JACINTA STEWART
Australian artist
Stewart is an Australian artist from Brisbane, Queensland residing in Dallas, Texas. During a sixteen-year residency in New York City from 2003 to 2019, Stewart studied life drawing at the Arts Student League, where she was awarded "Best of Show" in the graduate exhibit. During this time, she also studied illustration, printmaking, and portrait painting at the School of Visual Arts, as well as advanced drawing and painting at Hunter College. Her "Abstract Australian Seascape" series was selected by the Australian Consulate for a solo exhibit in 2012, and she was a finalist in the Brisbane Portrait Prize in 2020 and 2021. Stewart's works are part of private collections throughout Australia, Malaysia, the UK, and the USA.

Finalist in the Brisbane Portrait Prize 2021 "Losing Sight" is a portrtait of my mother who was diagnosed with glaucoma and macular degeneration in the later years of her life.
